Buckingham Music, Inc. Hall of Friends

"Our" people are different to the "Run of the mill" individuals you normally meet in everyday life - they have an extra spark - a lively curiosity about things beyond that which is normally encountered.
Here are some of these special people. Many of our friends aren't here 'coz we dont have their photos. If you aren't included and would like to be, please send a photo, or e-mail us a good size JPEG (about 5" on the wide side) so we may include you. A few words about yourself would be neat, too.
Totally dedicated,
Peter Cutchey

Pdt. Aashish Khan

Photo of Aashish Khan and photoshop work by Peter Cutchey, Austin, TX, 1999.

What can one say about a master of this caliber? As a person who is a musical legend in his lifetime he is unexpectedly modest, patient, and kind. The son of the great Pdt. Ali Akbar Khan and grandson of the late Pdt. Alauddin Khan (who taught Pdt. Ravi Shankar among others), Pdt. Aashish Khan has the sensitivity of the true artist, combined with the gentleness and understanding of the genuine Guru.
Aashish is an extraordinary player of great energy and technique. His playing and composing for Sarode has propelled him to the position of being one of the world's top exponents of this unique and difficult instrument. If you care to, you may see photos of Aashish in concert at: here then use your brower's "Go" menu, or "Back" button to get back to this page.
